Learning Opportunities

Come out and Volunteer!

Want to learn more about gardening and producing fresh vegetables using organic growing methods?  We are always seeking volunteers that are interested in helping us in our project.  Scott, the head farmer, is exceptionally talented at gardening.  He is also great at providing clear instructions on how to do different tasks and explaining how things work.  Volunteering with him and his staff will be a great learning opportunity for any interested individual and a great way to meet new friends!.

Tasks you can help with:

-          Prepping soil
-          Seeding
-          Transplanting
-          Weeding
-          Harvesting
-          Assisting at markets or CSA drop-off locations
-          Promoting (flyering, etc)
-          Deliveries/errands
-   Event planning
-   Developing a rain barrel program
-   Putting together newsletters
...and many other things!

We are looking for people of all ages and all backgrounds who can dedicate any amount of time to helping us out from the beginning to the end of the season. Of course if you can dedicate at least a few hours at a time on a consistent basis, that would be greatly appreciated.

This is also a great opportunity for class trips, or completing your 40 hours of volunteering for high school.

All you really need is the interest to come out, help and learn, and a pair of rubber boots!

In Return...

You will be able to take some veggies home with you.  We will also be happy to write a letter of reference to confirm that you spent time helping us.  We are also getting t-shirts donated from Hempire in Guelph and printed with our logo.  We will give a t-shirt to each volunteer who donates at least 20 ours of their time to helping us out!
