Edible or Ecological landscaping incorporating pollinator plants, native species, vegetables and/or fruit can be designed or built into your property in combination with your donated Backyard Bounty garden or as a new garden. Backyard Bounty has been joined by Create Order, a natural landscaping business in Guelph, to incorporate design and ecological landscaping into many of the models.
Here are some examples of the different ways that you can convert your yard to a beautiful, sustainable garden full of amazing plants. The possibilities are endless, we can build any combination of these for you on your property. These options are also available for institutions and companies with lawn which would like to see benefit the environment and the community.
1. Backyard Bounty Garden Plus
If you would like to donate your yard to Backyard Bounty or if we are already using your yard, you can opt to upgrade your yard with edible, native, pollinator, and ‘ecological’ plants with an attractive design. The entire garden or the areas surrounding the Backyard Bounty Garden can be designed to your liking. You will continue to receive a $30 discount on a CSA share for sharing your yard with Backyard Bounty.
2. Kitchen Garden
Another idea is that we can install a garden in your yard to your desired tastes for only your family’s use. You can also opt to have your garden designed to your liking. Once we have installed the garden for you, we will leave the rest to you for your enjoyment! Happy harvesting!
3. Eco Landscape
Backyard Bounty is acquiring the assistance of Create Order to providing more options for transforming your yard this year. This small, Guelph-based company is owned by Karis Clinton and operated since 2001. Karis’ company converts lawns to natural spaces using native species and provides design solutions which resonate with her clients and turns their dreams to reality. Karis Clinton has recently acquired a Masters of Landscape Architecture from the University of Guelph supported by a Bachelor of Science in Ecology and an Associate of Arts in Chemistry. Currently she is a Landscape Architectural Intern in the Ontario Association of Landscape Architects (OALA) professional development program working towards her licensure. She collaborates on projects in California and Canada while running her own residential design/build company, Create Order.

Maintenance Packages
You can also decide to have your garden weeded, harvested and tended on a consistent basis by Backyard Bounty. If you have donated some of your yard to us, you don’t have to worry: we already have plans to get over there and take care of that section. We can’t promise that that there will never be any weeds, but your garden will be well looked after!
